The largest of these five undeveloped discoveries is thought to be Abiala while the largest prospect, which also carries a very low geological risk, is Amobe.
The Amobe prospect is a large, clearly defined structure. It is located on the fault panel immediately to the north of the Opuama fault panel and its crest lies less than seven kilometres from the crest of the Opuama structure.
The Abiala-1 well is located in the north east of OML 40. It was drilled in 1989 and discovered oil and gas in multiple reservoirs between 6,900 and 11,000 feet depth.
